The Alien Gun - The Laugo Arms Alien is a semi-automatic pistol developed by the Czech firearms company Laugo Arms. The Alien has several unusual design features for a commercial pistol, such as a low barrel axis, a gas piston with recoil delay, a fixed barrel, and a non-rotating upper belt.
The Alien was designed by Slovakian firearms designer Jan Luchanski, founder of Laugo Arms and maker of the CZ Scorpion EVO 3. Luchanski had no background in firearms design and designed the Alien and Scorpion as a hobby. The idea of a pistol with a low bore and non-rotating bolt came to Luchansky in 2003, when he was designing the Scorpion prototype. After leaving CZ in 2013, Luchanski officially began developing his Alien idea, spending three years designing and prototyping.

The weapon was officially presented in March 2019 at the IWA OutdoorClassics exhibition in Germany. A limited initial run of 500 pistols is planned for 2019.

"Alien" is a gas-operated, trigger-operated pistol. A gas piston channel is installed on the barrel, which contains a gas piston and a block of return springs. The barrel is set very low, which ensures a very low axis of the rifle barrel. The reciprocating mass is very low and extends into the frame.
The barrel is fixed and does not move when the shutter is turned. The upper strap locks into the barrel (specifically the hook above the gas piston channel) instead of the bolt and remains stationary even when the bolt is pulled. The trigger is attached to the upper strap and rotates down to save space inside the gun. The trigger is released by a vertical transmission pin that presses against the trigger.
All of the Alien's unusual design features are designed to minimize the impact of recoil on the user and increase accuracy. The gas piston slows down the movement of the shutter and reduces its impact speed, the low axis of the barrel reduces the deviation of the muzzle, the fixed barrel increases the accuracy, and the fixed sights make the subsequent shots more accurate.
